I wanted a recipe for night photography downtown areas in the city so I used what I am calling Velvia City Nights. I like Velvia because of the vibrant colors and tones, but sometimes the vibrancy can be a little too much. So I reduced color to -4 for this recipe.
Some of the photos are randoms shots taken at an event center in Gonzales Louisiana. The others were taken at the Mississippi River in downtown Baton Rouge.
At the time of the photos the Mississippi River was at its lowest level in a long time. The low water level gives access to the piers that the U.S.S. Kid sits on and other areas which are normally in accessible.
All photos are camera jpegs which were resized for upload to the web. Some were adjusted for purple fringing. No other modifications made to the images except resizing for web upload.
