The Modern Documentary film recipe gave me some ideas for getting the look I wanted for the less scenic areas in Maui. I was looking for a film recipe to use when walking around town and also suitable for people photos on the beach. I made some changes such as setting DR to 100% to ensure my ISO stays low in well-lit conditions minimizing grain for a cleaner look. I also set NR to -4 to retain a much image detail as possible. When I used this recipe I also used a Tiffen Glimmer Glass 1 filter which softens images just a touch and also blooms highlights a little. Alternatively one can use a different filter such as a Black Pro Mist which would give a slightly different look or try reducing Clarity in camera.
All photos are SOOC jpegs which were resized for upload to the web. No other modifications made to the images.
